Many people get sold on the business opportunity that they join and do not really consider the viability of the market itself. A key thing you can do is look at the product and determine if it is a quality product that you would buy whether there was a business opportunity attached to it or not.

If you find plenty of businesses selling a product similar to what business opportunity you are joining you probably have a market where you can make money.
